As the traditional mantras of the system of Reiki are considered as sacred by many, pseudonyms are used in The Reiki Sourcebook rather than the true mantras. The pseudonym for the first traditional mantra is the initials CKR.
The main modern characteristic of CKR is Power and it is spoken three times in conjunction with Symbol 1.
The main traditional characteristic is Focus. In Japan, the mantra is not necessarily used in conjunction with the symbol. The early teachings of Mikao Usui claim that CKR develops a Reiki practitioner’s link to the energy of Earth.
