Christianity and the system of ReikiThis is a featured page

The system of Reiki is not a religion and is used by people of all religions around the world. Many Christians, including some Catholic nuns and priests, practice the system of Reiki on themselves and others.

John_C Christian Objections to Reiki 5 Jun 25 2008, 2:19 AM EDT by mindbodyspirit

Some objections have been leveled at Reiki from a dogmatic Christian perspective. These mostly relate to Western add-ons, but they're practiced widely:-

1. Universal life energy as a spiritual force is contrary to Christian belief that the human soul is unique and personal (Pantheism / "oneness").
2. Invocation of "God Consciousness" rather than the Holy Trinity (Panentheism).
3. Invocation of spirit guides or calling upon spirits - considered very dangerous.
4. Channeling and other associated psychic practices...

So, I think there's a need to be honest about what's being offered...
