Futomani Divination Chart and ReikiThis is a featured page

The Futomani Divination Chart stems from the Hotsuma Tsutae. Copies of the Hotsuma Tsutae have been stored in iwamuro (cave storage) in a Tendai temple at enryaku ji (hiei zan, Kyôto). These copies were given to Saichô (767–822), the founding priest of enryaku ji. The origin of this text is controversial. Tendai priests were believed to give lectures on the Hotsuma Tsutae. The divination chart has 48 syllables attributed to deities that form the matrix of magic signs. One of the letterforms in the divination chart, the wa, resembles the essence of Symbol 1.
