As the mantras of the system of Reiki are commonly classified as sacred, pseudonyms are used in The Reiki Sourcebook rather than the true mantras. The pseudonym for the third traditional mantra is the initials HSZSN.
The kanji of the true mantra of HSZSN is actually Symbol 3.
The modern characteristic of HSZSN is as the Distance Symbol and it is spoken three times in conjunction with Symbol 3.
The main traditional characteristic is Connection.Connection. Traditionally the mantra is not necessarily used in conjunction with the symbol. The early teachings of Mikao Usui claim that HSZSN develops a Reiki practitioner’spractitioner’s link to the energy of the Heart. It is within the Heart that the concept of Oneness is embraced.
