The founder of jûdô. There are some claims that he knew Mikao Usui. It was once thought that Jigorô Kanô was in a photo with Mikao Usui from Toshitaka Mochizuki’s book Chô Kantan Iyashi No Te. This however could not be verified by the Kodokan Jûdô Institute in Japan.
