It states on the memorial stone of Mikao Usui that he became enlightened while performing a meditation on kurama yama. According to the Kurama Temple, Mikao Usui has no specific connection to them.
Many martial arts practitioners, like Morihei Ueshiba, also practiced on kurama yama.
