Mon or KamonThis is a featured page

(Japanese) Family crest.
Mon originated in the 11th century when court nobles and warriors used emblems as symbols of their families. The designs were drawn from a variety of objects like the sun, moon, stars, animals, geometrical patterns and letters. Families marked their clothing, banners and many other things with their crest.
The most famous crest is the Imperial family’s 16-petalled chrysanthemum.
Mikao Usui’s Chiba crest is a circle with a dot at the top. The circle represents the universe, and the dot or Japanese star represents the North Star. The North Star never moves while the universe circles around it.
