Hônen brought Pure Land Buddhism to Japan. It is also known as Jôdo Shû. The goal of this Buddhist school is to be reborn in the Pure Land of Amida Nyorai. The main practice of Pure Land Buddhism is to recite Namu-Amida-Butsu, which is an expression of Oneness. Namu-Amida-Butsu translates as ‘I take refuge in Amida Nyorai Buddha’.
Mikao Usui is buried in a Pure Land temple in Tôkyô and Hyakuten Inamoto believes that Mikao Usui belonged to this sect. According to some of the early teachings of Mikao Usui, it is claimed that Symbol 2 is connected to Amida Nyorai.
