Shoden – Reiki LevelThis is a featured page

(Japanese) First teachings.
This is the Japanese name for Level 1. Hawayo Takata was taught shoden (she actually wrote shodan in her diary but her spelling of Japanese words was inaccurate). The Usui Reiki Ryôhô Gakkai use the term, too. This Japanese term signifies that you have begun working at this level — it does not signify that you have completed the level.
