One of 13 Reiki teacher students of Chûjirô Hayashi according to her certificate from Chûjirô Hayashi. Hawayo Takata was born in Hawaii and studied with Chûjirô Hayashi in Japan from 1936 to 1938. She brought Chûjirô Hayashi’s teachings to Hawaii.
For 40 years she offered treatments and taught people about the system she called Reiki. Before she died in 1980 she had taught 22 Reiki teachers to carry on her teachings.
