Hawayo Takata referred to the system of Reiki she learned from Chûjirô Hayashi as Usui Reiki Ryôhô in a recording of 1979. Her certificates call it Usui Shiki Ryôhô.
The memorial stone, erected by early members of the Usui Reiki Ryôhô Gakkai, called the teachings Reiki Ryôhô.
There is also a branch of Reiki called Usui Reiki Ryôhô. It attempts to trace the history of the system of Reiki basing its principles on what Mikao Usui taught.
