Some branches of Reiki have added mudras into their practice and teachings. However in traditional eastern practices like esoteric Buddhism, martial arts or Qi Gong, these mudras are only taught to students who have a deep understanding of emptiness or void. If the student has not integrated emptiness into the mind, body, or spirit, then practising a mudra is useless.
